DIY Ice Lanterns

Finora non è stato un inverno molto freddo, ma ora le temperature polari sono arrivate e mi hanno suggerito questo nuovo progetto, delle lanterne di ghiaccio…

Till  now it hasn’t been a very cold winter but now the polar temperatures have arrived and they have suggested me to create these ice lanterns…

Natale a "La Radice e il Frutto"

A parte i due tutorial delle Palline Trasparenti Decorate e dei Decori a rilievo, avrete notato che ultimamente non sono stata molto attiva sul blog, né sui social, ma non sono stata con le mani in mano, tutt’altro! Da un paio di mesi sono impegnata in una nuova collaborazione che occupa gran parte della mia giornata, ma che mi diverte molto e mi da tanta soddisfazione.

Apart from the two tutorials How to make Glittering Clear Glass Christmas Tree Ornaments and DIY Stamped Clay Christmas Ornaments, you might have noticed that lately I haven’t been very active on my blog and on the social media, but I haven’t sat on my hands, quite the contrary! I’ve been busy with a new collaboration for a couple of months and most of my days are taken up by it, but I’m enjoying it very much and it gives me great satisfaction.

 

 

DIY Stamped Clay Christmas Ornaments

Natale si avvicina velocemente e dopo le palline trasparenti decorate, sto ora preparando delle decorazioni in pasta sintetica a rilievo per il mio albero bianco ed oro.

Christmas is approaching very quickly and beside the decorated clear glass ornaments, I’m now making some stamped clay decorations for my white and gold Christmas tree.

Anche quest'anno il mio albero di Natale sarà sui toni del bianco ed oro e nonostante abbia già molte decorazioni, mi piace crearne di nuove ogni anno. Sono così nate queste palline trasparenti e brillanti.

This year too, my Christmas tree will be decorated in white and gold. Even if I already have many ornaments, I like to make new ones every year, so I created these glittering clear glass ornaments.

E' di nuovo quel periodo dell'anno che tutti attendiamo per 11 mesi con trepidazione, quello in cui le crafter cominciano a creare regali, decorazioni, cards ecc...NATALE!!!

It's again that period of the year we all wait for in trepidation for 11 months, the one when crafters start creating presents, ornaments, cards and so on...CHRISTMAS!!!

{DIY Halloween Spiderweb and Spider Frame}

Come vi raccontavo in un vecchio post, io festeggio Halloween da tanti anni, prima che si diffondesse anche in Italia questa tradizione anglosassone. Allora mia figlia era piccola ed andavamo in giro vestite da streghe e fantasmi a fare "dolcetto o scherzetto", oggi lei è adulta, ma la tradizione di addobbare la casa per Halloween è rimasta ed ogni anno mi piace creare qualcosa a tema. E' così nata questa cornice con un ragnetto che tesse la sua ragnatela.

As I told you in an old post, I've been celebrating Halloween for a long time, before this Anglo-saxon tradition spread in Italy, too. My daughter was a child and we dressed up like witches and ghosts and played "trick or treat", now she is an adult but we still follow the tradition of decorating our home for Halloween and I like to create something new every year. This year I made this spiderweb and spider frame .

Dopo i progetti creativi autunnali, la blogosfera si è ora animata di progetti dedicati ad Halloween e quindi ho pensato di dedicare un Linky Party a questo tema.

After the autumn creative projects, the crafters are now thinking at Halloween and they are creating gorgeuos projects on this theme. I have then thought of launching a new Linky Party all about Halloween.

Tra una quindicina di giorni si festeggia Halloween, una festa di origine anglosassone, che solo da pochi anni è entrata nelle nostre tradizioni e che molti non condividono, pensando sia una festa pagana. In effetti ha origini celtiche, ma nell'840 Papa Gregorio IV fissò la festa di Ognissanti al 1° Novembre, data scelta probabilmente per creare una continuità con il passato e per sovrapporre la festa cristiana a quella pagana ed Halloween  significa proprio Vigilia di Ognissanti (All Hallows' Eve).

In twenty days it will be Halloween, a feast with Anglosaxon origins that entered our traditions only a few years ago. Many people don't like it because they think it is a pagan feast. As a matter of fact it has Celtic origins, but in the year 840 Pope Gregory IV fixed on 1st November the feast of All Saints, a date probably choosen to create a continuity with the past and to overlap the Christian feast to the pagan one and in fact Halloween means All Saints' Eve (All Hallow's Eve).

Io la trovo comunque una festa simpatica soprattutto per i bambini ed un'occasione per decorare la casa.

Anyway, I think it is a nice feast for children and an occasion to decorate our homes.

Per questo Halloween ho voluto creare delle scatoline per i dolcetti del tipico "Dolcetto o Scherzetto", riciclando i rotoli della carta igienica.

For this Halloween I have created some pillow boxes for the typical "trick or treat", recycling toilet paper rolls.

{Autumn Colouring Page}

Oggi stavo disegnando delle foglie per un progetto che ho in mente ed ho pensato che potevo raccoglierle in un unico foglio con altri elementi naturali tipici dell'autunno e creare una pagina da colorare per i bimbi, ma che potrebbero essere utili anche per le crafter, che possono utilizzarli come templates per molti progetti.

Today I was drawing some leaves for a project I have in my mind and I thought that I could gather them on a single sheet and add some other autumn natural elements to create a colouring page for children, but they could be useful also for crafters who can use them as templates for many different projects.
